Tools and Materials You’ll Need

Step 1: Plan and Prepare

Step 2: Measure and Mark

Step 3: Install the Posts

3. Attach Posts: Slide the aluminum posts into the anchors and secure them with screws or bolts as instructed. Use a level to ensure they are perfectly vertical.

Step 4: Attach the Header

1. Position the header against the wall of your house or other structure. Mark the spots where it will be secured.
2. Drill pilot holes into the marked spots, then attach the header beam using lag screws or bolts.
3. Double-check that the header beam is level before tightening all fasteners.

Step 5: Install the Edge Beam

1. Attach the aluminum beam to the notched post, spacing them evenly as specified in the kit instructions.
2. Secure the other end of the edge beam to the posts. Use a rubber mallet to adjust them if necessary.
3. Tighten all screws and bolts to ensure the structure is stable.

Step 6: Install the Insulated Aluminum Roof Panels

1. Prepare the Panels: Unbox the insulated aluminum roof panels and ensure they are free of dirt or debris. Place them near the installation area for easy access.
2. Start from One End: Begin installing the first roof panel at one end (female side)of the patio cover. Align the panel so it overlaps the edge beam, as specified in the kit’s instructions.
3. Secure the Panels: Use the tek screws or fasteners provided in the kit to attach the panel to the header beam. Ensure each screw is tightened securely but avoid overtightening to prevent damage to the panel.
4. Seal the Edges: Apply sealant tape or silicone caulk along the edges of the panel where it meets the header beam and rafters to prevent leaks.
5. Install Subsequent Panels: Continue adding roof panels one by one, ensuring each panel locks into the previous one’s interlocking system. Check alignment and spacing as you go.
6. Finish with a Cap (if applicable): If your kit includes a beam cap or end trim, install it along the top edge to complete the look and provide additional protection against leaks.

Step 7: Add E-Gutters and Downspouts (Optional)

1. If your kit includes gutters and downspouts, attach them to the roof panels following the manufacturer’s instructions.
2. Ensure the gutters are sloped correctly to direct water toward the downspouts.
3. Secure the downspouts to the posts or walls as needed.

Step 8: Finishing Touches

1. Check the entire structure for stability and tighten any loose screws or bolts.
2. Clean up any debris and remove protective film from the aluminum components (if applicable).
3. Test the patio cover by gently applying pressure to ensure its secure.

• Regularly inspect your patio cover for any signs of wear or loose fasteners.
• Clean the aluminum with mild soap and water to maintain its appearance.
